Photo ID
Here is one heck of a photo! Mark Martell emailed me this photo from his friend Daniel Schmidt of a young raptor at the Berlin airport on its way to Spain (oh dear, now I have Daniel by Elton John in my head).
Can you identify the raptor in the airport screening system? First correct answer gets a free Vortex Harness for your binoculars or camera.

OK, well, I'm guessing Spanish Imperial Eagle.
Prairie Falcon?
I am guessing by the long neck its a vulture of some kind.

I'm thinking an eagle of some type so I'll throw out golden eagle for my answer...
I'm guessing Egyptian Vulture.
From Berlin to Spaine? Probably something I never even heard of. My initial reaction was something in the vulture category, but I suspect that is because (1) the box has the bird stooped over, like the classic lurking vulture pose, and (2) xrays give such a different view. Look at the "see through" image in Sibley Birding Basics for another example.
Hint 1:
It's not a vulture.
I'm glad I already have a similar harness for my camera because I don't have a freakin' clue!

Good lord...common buzzard?
I guess someone should guess the obvious, Peregrine Falcon.
white-tailed eagle
How about sea eagle?
Hint 2:
This species of raptor can be seen on more than one continent.
It's a condor. Can't see enough to say California or Andean Condor. If anybody can say, more power to 'em
I have utterly no idea, but because I want a harness and no one else has guessed it, I will say osprey.
Kathi
KatDoc guessed correctly!
Email your shipping address to me at sharon@birdchick.com and I'll put it in the mail.
