Test

Okay, can I put in photos?Hmm, interesting product name. Because when you think of hot meats, you think of birds... Actually, the ladies at Cardinal Corner say this brand of sunflower hearts with hot pepper on them works well for keeping squirrels away. Note that I said, this brand--I know some of the earlier versions and brands of this did not work because they were chock full of milo but Cole's is supposed to be pretty darn good.

Ah, I can finally post photos--shorebird book review, here I come!

FYI - wanted to be sure you've seen this woman's bird photography. Amazing.

Hi, I manage Richard and Nancy Cole's BirdWatcher Supply Co. store in Duluth, GA (they own 5 BWS stores and also Cole's Wild Bird Products, and are great bird people!) The Cole's products are the best and the Hot Meats really do work! I use them myself. The Hot Meats even keep the raccoons out of my feeders!

Orlando Bun--that is a cool photo, I especially like the ducking holding the flower.

Karen - thanks for the note about Cole's. Although, I must admit that the name "hot meats" makes me think of a dating service as opposed to bird seed.

;)

A British birder writing on a newsgroup described how he applied Chilli to bird tables/feeder poles to discourage squirrels (they lick their paws then - aargh !).

What tickled me was he said he used his partners tooth brush to apply it....

Ed
