When my children were born, I did use a rather fanciful illustration on our birth announcements, which read, "It's a lifer!" You can see the picture, drawn by John Dallman, at the zoology museum at the U of Wisconsin in Madison, here:
Laura's drawing is cute and makes sense. That blue jay baby just kinda scares me, much in the same way the laughing baby in the sun scares me on The Teletubbies. I think it's more my issue than the photo.
