Disapproving Shirt Preview
I promise, tomorrow usual blogging activity should resume. This flu has really knocked me on my behind. When Lynne mentioned in the comments that she was on day 11 of the illness, I thought maybe that was an exaggeration but I have been living with this since the Sunday I came back from Duluth, and by tomorrow it will be day ten! It's been in my lower GI, it's been in my nose and just when I thought I was feeling human again, it's moving into my lungs. I'm hacking like crazy, but when not coughing I'm getting a sexy Kathleen Turner thing going so it's not all bad.
By the way, I've been testing out various internet hot toddy recipes, this one is my favorite:
2 oz boiling water
1 1/2 oz whiskey (I used 12 year old Glenfiddich)
one slice of lemon
1 teaspoon honey (I like Really Raw Honey)
pinch of ground nutmeg
pinch of ground cloves
1 cinnamon stick
Very soothing and highly recommended.
Okay, here is an early design of the Disapproving Rabbits Shirt:
The caption will probably read "I don't approve of this." and it will have www.disapprovingrabbits.com on there somewhere too.
What do you think, I still have time for changes.

Can we order it from overseas? I live in Singapore. :)
love it!!
YES!
speaking on behalf of Cinnamon, the rabbit in the drawing isn't svelte enough!
I like it!
And my new "Hot All-Bird Action" t-shirt is raising eyebrows everywhere I go. So I will definitely add a "Disapproving Rabbit" to my collection. If people wonder at my bird shirt, they will be totally confused with a Cinnamon shirt.
I love it. (There should probably be a comma between the "No" and the "sir" though.)
I totally approve of your cold remedy! Mmmmmm. Glenfiddich!
The tee is really cute -- in a grumpy, disapproving way!
Love the shirt! I bought some of that raw honey recently. It tastes awesome, but I think it gives me an allergic reaction due to the pollen and stuff in there.
Nice try using reason with the poster on Julie Zickefoose's blog. I don't think it will work though.
"Think..." would probably suggest that you should be training raptors to use more humane [as opposed to avian] methods of killing their prey.
Gotta run. Have to put a goat in my crockpot.
If you are in another country and are interested in a shirt, you need to talk to NBB at store at birdchic dot com. He's taking care of all the shipping end of things where he works and will be able to answer that.
The caption on the shirt will actually read, "I don't approve of this." If people really like, "No, sire. I don't like it." let me know.
I love it!
I would love it to say:
"Nope, no sir, I don't like it."

with the real pic on it

That would just make it SOOO funny.
Even though I like the 'No sir,' I think the shirt needs to have the actual disapproval on there. :) The picture of Cinnamon looks great - I love that disapproving mouth! (And don't tell her this, but the fluffy chub-ness is also well captured).
Can't wait!
I love it!
I wouldn't change a thing!!!
Q : Will is come in different colors?
Can't wait to place my order!
I want at least two of them!! I love it!! It should say "I don't approve of this".
Any chance for a yard sign that says "I don't approve of stray cats"? I know of a bunny-friendly yard that would proudly display one :-)
I read your meat post over at Julie's and for a minute thought "oh my god she's going to say she snapped and fought the falcon for its food". 0_o
We disapprove - unless it means more parsley, carrot tops and bananas for Cinnamon
Honestly, at this point the birdchick shirts and the disapproving rabbit shirts aren't really money makers--they are paying for themselves. If there is any extra, Cinnamon does get the proceeds. She can't eat regular alfalfa pellets like most rabbits and gets her vitamins from fresh veggies so that is where the money will go.
I love it! I need 4! I like both the No, Sir comment and the I Disapprove comment.
If people need the shirt explained that is their problem
We're just picking out shirt styles and then they have to be printed. I'm hoping that the DR shirts will be ready by October 15.
With all of the political advertisements of late, Cinnamon comes to mind...
"I disapprove of this message."
"Nope, no sir, I don't like it" is much funnier than "I don't approve of this."
I like the original "Nope, no sir, I don't like it." Either way, we'll need two! (2X or 3X?)
Thanks for the link :)
Since the shirts will have "Disapprovingrabbit.com" on them, I have to agree with those who prefer "Nope, no, sir, I don't like it". This may just be funny as an inside joke to regular readers, but I think it's funnier, regardless.
The readers who have suggested putting Cinnamon's picture on the shirt are right, I think. Her picture on her new blogger page, for example...best disapproving picture ever!! But I also know cost will become a very negative factor if you use her photo, so the drawing is just as good.
BTW, giving Cinnamon her own blogging profile was hilarious, Sharon.
Hope you feel MUCH better soon!

I can't believe someone took a photo when I was retaining a little more water than usual and stylized it into that shirt.
I never approved this shirt! Bunny rights! I'll never see a dime of the shirt money, birdchick spends all her money on scotch and her hair.
Love it, so ordering it, but I would like "I don't approve of this message, or something like that", the shirt statement doesn't REMIND me of the Cinnamon that we've come to know on the blog! Same w/ the picture, love to actually see Cinnamon on it, I'd pay more for the shirt for the actual picture.
Absolutely adore it. My buddy, the Bunnyman, likes it too. I think you should use the picture you are showing, not a photo.
At this point an actual photo is not doable. It really doesn't look very good on the shirt. What we are working with is taking actual Cinnamon photos and stylizing the photo to look like a drawing. The image in this post is the the image for "Nope. No sir, I don't like it." just filled in to look like a drawing.
That is disappointing. Cinnamon's expressions are what make the whole disapproving factor so hilarious.
I'm good with either caption.
Are you planning on having them in XXL?
Also, how much extra to have Cinnamon herself deliver it? *grin*

PS
I do like:
"Nope, no sir, I don't like it." the best. That's the caption that made me laugh the most when I first came to the disapproving rabbits page.
Oh god, I love this so much. Having two disapproving rabbits of my own, this is just perfect!!
I totally want one!
I agree that the "Nope, no sir, I don't like it," caption is the best.
Is it possible to refine the lines around Cinnamon's mouth? His little pursed lips are what make the disapproval so perfect!
Oh my gosh, October 15 (your hoped-for availability date for these tees) approaches! Sign me up for three, four if you have a child's size as well.... you should definitely consider the kids large size as well.
Cinnamon can say whatever she approves of saying (if she ever approves of anything) but I'm kinda fond of "Nope, no sir...." the original remarks.
"Nope, no sir, I don't like it." is my favorite.
When! Pleeeeeze!
"Nope, no sir, I don't like it." is my favorite.
When!? Pleeeeze?
Thank you!!!
I wouldn't change a thing! I love this tee-shirt design. I hope you print them soon!
You might condsider submitting your design to www.threadless.com, which is an ongoing, year round tee-shirt design contest. If your design is chosen for printing you would win $1500 cash and $500 in prizes. Again, I think your design is really great and might have a chance to win over at Threadless.
