Aw! Look at her widdle teeth and noseholes. Are the heartshaped?

Does she approve of being tranced?
Is there a rabbit that approves of being tranced? I really don't enjoy doing it, but it's the only safe way to trim those bunny talons. It kind of freaks me out though.
When we had Latte we could never trance him, he'd always twist out of it.
OK - I am totally dumb here, but, what do you mean by "tranced"? It isn't the same as "tranqued"?
I just loves Cinnamon!
My bunny Tabasco doesn't trance well. When I try to cut his nails he always seems to twist and turn and get away from me, so I trance him and use my legs kind of like vice grips to hold him. He only weighs 1 pound so this is easy to do.
Trancing didn't work with Velvet, she would always twist out.. instead we have learned to hold her upright, hugged to my chest facing out.. with one hand under her butt, and the other across her chest, between her front paws. She does quite well in this position as long as you have one person to hold, and one to trim. (this way you can also kiss her head, and tell her it is going to be alright)
Works great!
Mountain Girl, you're not dumb, that's a good question!
Most rabbits when fipped over on their back will kind of freeze and appear to go into a "trance". I think in Watership Down it's called going tharn. Some say rabbits find this relaxing, some say it freaks rabbits out because they've lost control, some say rabbits don't know what's going on.
I think it's mechanism of sorts--the only time rabbits would be on their backs is when they are being eaten, so maybe going into a trance takes them out of it? Or maybe with their large ears, it freaks out their equilibrium to be flipped.
Whatever the reason, it can make trimming a rabbit's nail's easier since they just kind of sit there (some rabbits, not all).
I've used the "Velvet technique too", although Cinnamon will sometimes still stamp and thrash those hind legs.
FYI - I love the name Tobasco for a bunny! Even Cinnamon approves of that name.
I love love love this picture - I laughed out loud! - and thanks for teaching us about bunny trancing. I definitely wish that this worked on my cats. Unfortunately Benny LIKES to roll around on his back like a dog, and Fatty just flips over when he wants to. I can trim a couple of their claws sometimes, but I usually end up taking them to the vet for a manicure every few months.
LOL!
**wiping eyes** Oha, man, that is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time.
Oh, Cinnamon, you just rock.
DMB, you have a cat named Fatty...you must be cool. Lol
Ps. Sorry to cause a huge trancing controversy!
There's no controversy, bunnyluver! Sometimes we bunny people just have to explain bunny terminology--kinda the same way I have to elaborate on birding terminology.
As long as you're not trolling, you're comments are welcome!

Niblet really hates to be grabbed in any way, so I don't know if I could trance him. Plus, when I trim his claws, I just take his paws like I'm his manicurist and he doesn't fuss much. Perhaps he likes having his nails done?
I didn't know it was called trancing. At our house we call it "hypno-bun" and our rabbit Buddy does not like it one little bit!!
I've heard that female buns are easier to trance than males. Both my males would freeze for a moment and then squirm and escape.
Cute rabbit is she a Giant Rabbit breed? Wished cats could go into trances when you cut their nails.
