New Life Goal

Went to see Casino Royale last night. I now have a new life goal: write a hit movie about birdwatchers starring this:

The new Bond movie totally rocks and not just for the obvious beefcake. Daniel Craig really is a very good actor. I would put this James Bond movie as my number two favorite. Hmm, I think I'll get to the birdwatching script right away. The first scene: Daniel Craig's character has chiggers and must be rubbed with Chigger Rid...

I wonder how many Sibley Guides he could carry all at once?

I heard a review the other day and they were saying that the new James Bond guy wasn't handsome.

????????

Laura, were "they" male or female??

I'm looking forward to seeing Mr. Craig in the upcoming Truman Capote film.

Forgive me if this is old news to you, but you are aware of the ornithological origins of Agent 007, aren't you?

The Pierce Brosnan "Die Another Day" was set in Cuba, and Pierce Brosnan wore binoculars in one scene and was holding James Bond's book about the birds of the Caribbean.

This is yet another example of a major difference between Birdchick and me--I just happened to post a photo of the guy I think is the sexiest man living on my blog this week--Stephen Colbert.

Hi Jeff,

Glad to see you started blogging again!

As for Mr. Bond, I wonder if the ornithologist version looked like that Bond? For those who don't know, Ian Flemming named is spy after ornithologist James Bond:

And I won't knock BirderBlog's choice of sexiest man alive. I'm married to the hottest nerd I know in real life: Non Birding Bill. The dark hair, the glasses, the enormous comic book collection all, the tech support--all in one cute package.

I've been trying to bury this post a little. I wasn't thinking when I posted it Sunday night that I was doing a radio segment called Breakfast Blogs early Monday morning where they talk to people about their blogs. I quickly added the two posts after this while on waiting to go on air.

I think I just saw a Sanderling run past his foot.

I've heard nothing but good things about this movie. It's surprising since fans made such an uproar about James "Blonde".

NBB and I are wondering if all the backlash to the new Bond was hype on the movie studio's part.

This is a GREAT movie. The opening sequence establishing his 00 status grips you right away and the first chase scene makes running look like so much fun and so cool. If jogging could be made that exciting, I would totally take it up.

He just needs one of those red floatie things and he'll be David Hasselhoff! Kidding!

Interesting conspiracy theory there about "James Blonde". You're probably on to something.

Hee! Birdchick, I think my reaction to the new Bond film was much the same as yours. Mr. Craig's not exactly my archetype, but he certainly is easy on the eyes.

I enjoyed that movie pretty much start to finish. (I admit to being a 007 junkie, but this one was even better than usual. Great addition to the series.)
