Even though I am all about "native" flora and fauna, I have to tip my hat to starlings. They do dazzle the eye this time of year. Give me a hundred starlings instead of one house sparrow!
I'll trade Susan house sparrows for starlings any day. There is no bird I hate worse than those evil aliens.
Having said that, I was playing around trying to digiscope today, and must admit that a starling in winter plumage is a rather handsome bird. I got a nice shot of one in the sunshine, with purple irridescence and covered with sparkles.
After I took his picture, I screamed at him to get off my suet dough and leave it for the good birds.

Wow nice shot! The quality of the pic looks a lot better than the ones my dad gets with the camera he bought from Cabela's.
Cool deal! Starlings can be really frustrating to photograph well- and they do look really cool in that fresh plumage. Well done.
OT: That "accidental photos" album is cracking me up.
