Ummmm...

I might need a little reader support for a moment.

I just got a notice from an alert reader that my site is being blocked by SonicWALL. Non Birding Bill did some investigating and discovered this:

The site www.birdchick.com rated as Pornography?? Have I been talking about bird mating too much? We've put in a request for a review of the site, but it may help to have multiple people enter it in to help confirm that this site is not porn but more in the category of Sports/Recreation/Hobbies. If you have a chance and don't mind, go to SonicWALL and enter your email and classification of Sports/Recreation/Hobbies.

Thanks!

Did you mention NBB's play from last year, which was about the subject in question? Is his current or old blog also tagged as such?

Well, Sharon, frankly, I don't know...
Remember the video of the mating eagles?
The "kinky" mating Mallards in ice water?
The aforementioned "All hot bird action"?
This whole "bunny" theme?

Oh well, ok, if it helps, I'll see what can be done.
Cheers,
Jochen

C'mon, all those pictures of birds, and none of them are wearing clothes!

Maybe it's just the name?

Caroline in South Dakota

Just FYI, it is blocked by the screening system that our school district (Rapid City Area School District) uses too, so I can never check it at school, I have to do it from home

Done. I pointed out that as a birdwatching site, the only tits on it were of the bluetit and tufted titmouse variety.

You didn't slip in the word "scrotum" somewhere did you? That seems to be a quick ticket to Censorville right now :-D

You guys are awesome to send a request. Thank you. I'm willing to bet money that this is due to talk of blue tits (yes, it's an actual bird) and NBB's show from the Fringe Festival last summer. I like the idea of blaming NBB for this.

It never occurred to me that my site could get blocked--even at schools!

A few years ago Alma Tundra Swan Watch had a website that was something like www.swanalma.net. People were being blocked from it because of the word between the "sw" and the "ma". Now it's www.almaswanwatch.org.

I just checked and it is still rated as porn.
Maybe we should increase the pressure in the comment section?

OH, for goodness sake!
5 years old can run around in low-rise jeans, Brittney can flash her what-not at cameras, Paris can be a general slut, and BIRDCHICK is objectionable??????

DID you slip in the word scrotum? If so, MY BLOG is in trouble. I have a picture on there of a pair of plastic boy-parts that someone hung from their bumper.

Done.
