Hello, all, NBB here. Sharon's on her way back from Indy right now, and so far it sounds like the train trip to Chicago was a lot less exciting that the trip down. Alas.
At any rate, last night The Colbert Report aired it's segment on eagle festival that Sharon attended, and the Birdchick herself appears in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, near the start:

Thanks, NBB! Sharon, your hair looks great in that shot! Very funny -- I was laughing so hard I attracted all of my family who watched with me. Classic Colbert. And so typical that he cawed like a crow when he was trying to court the eagle (I liked the candlesticks as well). I think he nailed the outfit of a birder, too. Cool mating ritual footage.

I thought of you the moment it came on! That Stephen Colbert- who knew he was a secret birder? I am not surprised to hear you were there. I used to live a few miles from this site. We would see the eagles come and hang out on the river. It always made the local papers. Btw, we have pileated wood peckers here in NJ now- 3 in our yard. Thanks for the awesome blog!!

I'm so glad my hair made it in--I really do have great hair. It helps that it's big, the camera can't miss it.
I'm pretty sure that's my buddy from Swarovski, Clay Taylor with the green hat, green coat, Swarovski binos in front of the Swarovski booth. Now that, my friends, is branding.
I had no idea how they were going to put the segment together, but it's pretty hilarious.
So fun to hear Clay's voice!
