Contest
We're currently in the lobby of our hotel waiting for our shuttle to the airport to get back to Minneapolis. We had a FABULOUS time in Cleveland, this was a well organized festival. It was so busy I didn't have time to blog. I caught up with friends and made some new ones.
While waiting and to give me time to formulate some blogs entries about this weekend, here is a contest:
What kind of raptor is this? Leave your answers in the comments section. I'm not sure what the prize will be, either a book or a mug--I need to check for prizes when I get home this morning. As usual, the first correct answer with a name attached wins.

Is it an albino Red-Tailed Hawk? My other guess would be albino Cooper's Hawk. It doesn't appear to be a really large raptor, but it's hard to guess the exact size from the photo.

It looks a little small in the picture but the head looks like an eagle so I would guess a partial albino bald eagle.
Hmm... looks kinda small... Broad-winged hawk?
Darnit, Ecobirder beat me to my guess--I thought albino baldie. It's small, but that head--it just looks like a bald eagle to me.
Whatever it is, it's awesome!
It's an albino raptor. That's a correct answer to the question, right? :-)
Leucistic Red-Tailed Hawk. (does it count if I was there?)
Thanks for the good presentations by the way! It was a very nice weekend. And I'm sure there'll be a few more hits on your site and blog today. The only problem is, I've necer had a squirrell oroblem before, and the first thing I saw in my yard when I got home from your bird feeding presentation was the squirrell-ympics in my back yard. Are you bad luck or something?? ;)
Albino Harris Hawk?
It's a ghost hawk! I think I saw it on an episode of Scooby Doo once...

Leucistic Eagle
It goes to Unsuspecting Birder--it is a leucistic red-tailed hawk--the bird has blue eyes. He looks smaller because he is a male--in the raptor world, males are smaller than females.
Plus, I feel I owe him something since I brought him squirrels!
;)
Email me your snail male and I'll send you a copy of "Good Birders Don't Wear White.
