I believe what you are looking at here is Starlings. This video was shot I believe in Northern California--San Francisco Bay area.

I've had the same sense of astonishment watching starlings flying around our area. They look like amoeba under a telescope!
Hey on another note, I have a brown creeper - the first one I've ever seen in our area! He's beauuutiful. :)
