Oh, Animal Planet!
I'm getting some work done while having Little People Big World on in the background. A promo just came on for Animal Planet, they are going to show Winged Migration next weekend. In the promo, they showed the bald eagle from the movie landing...and what sound did I hear dubbed over?

What is up with that? If you took the eagle's little cackle and just used like a millisecond of it, it wouldn't sound quite so cackly. You'd think Animal Planet would make an attempt, anyway....
Is a letter-writing campaign in order!?
They shouldn't even use the Bald Eagle in their promo if they're going to do that. There are tons of excellent scenes from that documentary. At least they are showing it. I feel if non-birders watch it, they could easily be hooked!
I wish Animal Planet would do more about birds... do people really think snakes, lemurs, etc. are more interesting than BIRDS?!?!?
I would be the novice birder who is amazingly HOOKED! I can't wait to watch "Winged Migration"! My daughter (who i homeschool) will be watching as well. Teaching her about birds for school is what got us both falling in love with birds!

When we had our first Bald Eagle nest here in SW Ohio, it was a big deal and the local news covered it quite a bit. They even had a film clip of a soaring --- TURKEY VULTURE (!) while the voice over talked about Bald Eagles.
Lame.
But, I would expect better from Animal Planet than the local news.

It really annoys me that Animal FREAKIN' Planet can't get it right!!!!!
I'm going with D's suggestion and writing a freakin' letter. To someone.
