Eight Radom Facts Meme
Sometimes I wonder about the many memes that ask for facts about bloggers--is there anything we don't already share with our readers? But I got tagged by Schmoker for Eight Random Facts:
Here are the rules for Eight Random Facts:
1. From about seventh grade to my sophomore year, I had a massive crush on David Copperfield. Note the above photo. This was taken in Indianapolis in the late '80s, I can't believe he had bigger hair than me.
2. I'm the youngest of eight children, I have five sisters and two brothers.
3. To help make ends meet when I was in college, I was a nude art model for the university's art department.
4. I can hang a fork from my nose.
5. When I have time, I love to make candles or do Sumi-e.
6. The first play I ever wrote has a character who speaks in nothing but Barry Manilow lyrics.
7. I was in a Jesse Ventura commercial about Minnesota colleges while he was governor of Minnesota.
8. When I get really stressed out, I imagine what life would be like if I were Father Dougal MacGuire from the Father Ted series. It really relaxes me. Here's a sampling of Dougal from You Tube:
And now I have to tag eight bloggers:
Non Birding Bill
Susan Gets Native
Birding Is Not A Crime
Ornitho-blog
Bird Couple
Hasty Brook
KatDoc's World
Born Again Bird Watcher
Here are the rules for Eight Random Facts:
- Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
- People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
- At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
- Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Hey cool! I am the oldest of eight. How much older is your oldest sibling? I'm 19 yrs older than my youngest brother.
OMG I'd completely forgotten about Father Ted! I'll need to add that to the Netflix list.
My hubby and I are currently enjoying season 1 of Father Ted. Feck off! :)
I believe the oldest sibling my family is 18 years older than I am.
I love Father Ted! It's the best. Wait until you get to "My Lovely Horse" episode and the infamous rabbit episode.
"Drink!"
Gee. Thanks, Sharon dear.
:)
That was hard! Because I am random all the time anyway.
Well that isn't as common as it use to be, any nephews or neices older or about the same age as you ?

Are you holding a disapproving rabbit in the Copperfield pic?
I have a nephew who is four years younger than I am.
I was wondering if anyone would notice that coat. Yes, in my younger days, my parents purchased me a fur coat. I think I wore it for a year, and then stopped because I felt bad about it. That was a tough decision, my parents didn't have lots of money, and they got me what was to them, a beautiful coat as a surprise. Then one day I told them I couldn't wear it because I didn't want to wear fur ever again.
That was when the anti fur movement was just starting and I'm sure it was frustrating that their daughter rejected an expensive coat that was a gift because she didn't want to wear fur.
Different time, twenty years ago.
I had a rabbit fur coat when I was young. About 25 years ago (I was 5) and it was my most prized possession at the time. Now I cringe everytime I think about it. It really was pretty ugly too... it looked more like a calico cat than a rabit. lol
BTW, can I just say that if that picture was 20 years ago, you've aged a lot better than I have! LOL You look exactly the same (well, except the hair) LOL
Good stuff! Especially the Barry Manilow play. Too funny!
That was fun Sharon....especially Father Ted. I've never heard of that show (I guess that's what happens when you don't have cable!)
Thanks for sharing.
The youngest of 8-wow!-I'll bet that explains why you are such a good promoter-you had to compete with all your siblings.
Hi Sharon,
