I keep trying to do a blog entry about osprey banding today, but I keep finding ticks. I've lost count of how many I have found crawling on me and I'm not sure what's more disturbing: the number of ticks I keep finding or the fact that I've been out of a tick area for over six hours and I'm still finding them. Why are they just crawling on me, why aren't they latched on? Am I not to their taste or is something wrong my blood?
What does it say when you are rejected by ticks?

I'd say you're darned lucky to not be of a flavor ticks like.
Something here loves me. They attack my ankles the second I'm out the door. I don't see the bug - just the bites later when I'm back inside and itching.
Lost count... Still finding them six hours later... OMG, I would be having a mental meltdown if I ever had that many ticks on me! I have arachnophobia and ticks are definitely included in it.
I've only ever had one tick on me. It was when I was a teenager, and my mom had to put her hand over my mouth as she pulled the tick off because I was screaming so loud that she was afraid that someone would think that I was being murdered.
Maybe they just don't lyme you.
ha ha. (sorry, couldn't resist)
@Dea: LOL!
Coincidence? Cool Tools today features a tick-removal device.
*Shudder* Good luck!
Oh Birdchick. You are probably the only person in the world lucky enough to have found several ticks who DIDN'T latch on who would then worry WHY they didn't. Perhaps you accidentally got some of Mr. Neil's dog's Frontline on you. I'm thinking of using it on a regular basis myself.
*shudder*
TICKS. Vile creatures.
Maybe you ate a lot of garlic or onion?
It reminds me of the first time we went out looking for American Woodcocks. We picked ticks off for about two hours and then found them crawling up the walls in the house for about 2 weeks ugh!
