We Are O.K.
For those who may have just learned about the horrible bridge collapse on the I-35W bridge near our home this evening, Non Birding Bill and I are both safe and were not on the highway at the time.
We're trying to get hold of friends, but as you can imagine cell service is spotty and the media is asking that we not use the phones unless it's absolutely necessary. Friends, please feel free to leave a comment to let us know that you too are okay and alive.

Good Lord, did you know I was thinking of you? I'm thankful you're home safe. Praying for the others and for the rescue workers.

You were the first person I thought of when I read about the collapse too, so thank you again for posting. What a terrible, terrible thing to happen. You and everyone there will be in my thoughts.
I'm so glad you're OK, I had to come here and check. What a terrible tragedy.
Very glad to hear you are all okay. I also checked with my family, just hoping not to hear bad news tomorrow at work. This is so tragic, I pray for the families and those injured in this incident.

I hope we did not lose any birders from our community from this horrific event. I just heard my nephew is safe and sound. This is truely a sad day in Minnesota!

funny how i didn't even realize it was close to where you are but knew it was in your general area and when i heard you guys were my first thought (don't know anyone else in the area) so thank you for the post to let us know you are okay. Very sad but thankful as it seems it could have been much worse.
oh geez - i'm clueless - i just finally heard/read news on it (only heard a blurb in the car radio today until tonight) - so it sounds like there are cars buried and could be 60 or so buried cars? i didn't realize that. :( my prayers are going out to all those working and those wondering about their family. i pray the toll doesn't go up - when i heard 7 died i thought it was a miracle only 7 died but sounds like they really don't know.

I think I freaked out poor, WildBird on the Fly. I was trying to call my friend Amber and dialed Amy instead. When someone answered who didn't quite sound like Amber, that had me going crazy.
