Banding Giggity Giggity
Banding rocked so hard today--and it's not done, I'm going hawk trapping this weekend. I try to formulate a post about banding at Carpenter before I leave--I still have to download photos from the other camera, but here is a hint of what we got:
Both of these birds came into the same net at the same time. Can you guess what they are?

pine on the left and chesnut-sided on the right?
Warblers! ;)
Hey, a good birder knows her limits, and mine fall short of eastern birds without a field guide handy.
I don't know about the birds (cute, that's for sure) but that's one definite ouchie on the finger...
Quagmire! Love it.
Allllll Riiiiiiiiiiiight!
Green birds.

How many people in the birding community get the Giggity Giggity reference ? QUAGMIRE RULES!
They're gorgeous, that's what they are!
Bay-breasted Warbler (fore) and Chestnut-sided Warbler (aft). Nice!
Quagmire? Giggity, Giggity? Okay, now I no longer can deny that I'm just a birder wanna-be! Even more disappointing, my first thought was they are both the same bird! But, I did not some small differences in coloring/markings. Hey, did you know I can tell the difference between a grackle and a blackbird? LOL -- ya... just a wanna be.

I second Bay-breasted and Chestnut-sided. I almost said Blackpoll, but I see some bay on the sides.
I should have guessed you'd be a Family Guy fan!
It is:
bay-breasted warbler in front, and chestnut-sided in back.
I'm so pleased that there are other birders watching family guy. I heart Quagmire.
Giggity.

Actually, I read the follow-up post before this one, so had the answers, but wouldn't have known without having read it already.

Any idea what this little guy might be? It would not let me look at the upper side of its wings.
That picture was taken with you in mind BTW - here frost is still a long way away.
