How come your northern Goldfinches are still gold? Mine in SW Ohio are already in their winter garb.
I see why you like the feeder with the wave at the bottomw - it fits a Downy Woodpecker's tail perfectly.

I was wondering the same thing about the goldfinches. Those here in Pittsburgh are beginning to look more wintery, too-- I haven't seen bright yellow males like that one for at least a month. Are there variations in color change for different goldfinch populations depending on the region?
