Passing The Time During The Alberta Clipper

It was kind of a slow morning at The Raptor Center--that's Odie, our education barred owl with a facial disc dusted with snow. He's not the brightest bulb on the tree thanks to some brain damage, he's kind of slow on the uptake, but he looks cute in the snow. It was snowing when I went in this morning about 8:15am and now about 12 hours later, it's winding down. I think we're only getting about 5 inches, but word is up in Laura's neck of Minnesota, they got 13 inches.

So, I played with Cafe Press during the snow storm. I frustratingly learned that with the type of account I have, I can only do one item at a time (so once I put Cinnamon's image on a mug, I can't do a bird mug unless I upgrade). I don't know if I'm prepared to purchase an upgraded account there yet, but I have some stuff up if you are interested.

What better place for disapproval?

;)

I was wondering how soon someone would catch that. I wonder what bird equivalent I could do for a thong? I was thinking dickcissel for boxers...

Do you think Julie would ever do Chet Baker boxers?

So dickcissel for boxers, and for girl-panties: Chachalaca? American Golden Plover? Red Knot? (oh God, forgive me for this next one) Worm-eating Warbler?

For a place that's more versatile with the number of images you can have, check out Zazzle--I know folks who made the switch because they had trouble with Cafepress quality and restrictions.

I noticed that one section says "Stickers, buttons and magnets" but so far you've only got buttons. My boys (4 and 2 years old) adore your bird and bunny pictures and would love magnets. They're a bit on the young side for things with pokey bits (like buttons). I think I'd have a heavy case of toddler-disapproval if I put those in stockings for Christmas!

If the site will let you make magnets...could you please do some for those of us who have littles running around? I'm pretty certain my 4 year old is a budding birder. My mom has him carrying a bird book and binoculars around everywhere, even to Wal-Mart, he might see a new bird in the parkinglot!

Odie looks like most people feel when the weather turns...whatca gonna do!

How's the weather today? More snow maybe.

It would be nice if you got the Alberta Chinook too, just to warm things up now and then.

Good Luck with Cafe Press. I've had a shop there for a while and it can be slow.

I just adore Odie's off-kilter "I'm not so smart" look he always has.

I second the comment to try out Zazzle. There aren't any limits on the number of items you can list and the quality is fantastic.
