You Just Can't Make This Stuff Up
While doing some online research, I came across The Bird Feeder Hat. Now this isn't a fashion trend that you'll be seeing in your local bird store or at bird festivals. This is an event organized by Friends of the Ten Mile--a chapter of Redwood Coast Watershed Alliance and this is not just about birds landing on your head, according to the website it's a way to "learn to create sustainable interspecies relationships with members of your watershed."OK.

Now THAT'S devotion to a cause! I love your blog, BTW. I hope you don't mind that I've added it to my blogroll.
OMG, don't let any of my friends see this thing. I wear hats all the time. I can just see a "gift" of one this type. UGH
Creating sustainable interspecies relationships is what life is all about, isn't it? No?
But where do you put the bird food? Would I have to hang my tube feeder from one of the branches?
That would go great with the bird seed shoes you debuted earlier.
Just put those on, smear some peanut butter on your belly and hang out in a lounge chair in Salinenas, Texas. Now THAT'S birding.
I think you got Cheezburgered! Isn't this one of your pictures?

(I'm going to be really embarrassed if it isn't yours.)
I want that hat!
Fun!
The nature center where I spent my formative years used to put out a strawman with birdseed in his gloves and on his hat. Once the birds got used to it, you could go out and take his place, wearing his gloves and hat, and the birds would come sit on you, too! I loved doing that.
Stopped by today, wondering if you'd seen this vase made by bees.
:S Strange but interesting idea, but I don't think I'll follow that fashion for now...
Sharon, did you get a chance to watch Raptor Force on PBS tonight? I know it was a repeat, but it was still great!
Cindy
I missed Raptor Force tonight, but I have seen it before--very cool!
