Really Cool Avocet Rescue Story!

Here's a link to some cool photos and story on the rescue of an injured avocet. Oh, to be able to hold that shorebird in my hands!

They are such photogenic birds. I lucked upon a few outside of Ft Collins, CO. Once. But I'll take luck. They don't make it up here, do they? Of course, I've made some great finds up here too, so it all evens out.

Cool story. I had my own bird rescue adventure today when I got a call at work about an owl stuck in a batting cage net! I wish the photos were a little better. I was concentrating on freeing the owl and had no time to take pictures. I wish I had one that showed how badly the leg was tangled.

Thanks for sharing the link, Bird Chick. Amazing story. I saw my first American Avocet a couple weeks ago and they are truly a beautiful bird - aren't they all!
