Sapsucker Still Hanging Around
I can't believe it, Mr. Neil still has a yellow-bellied sapsucker hanging around! We've seen them during migration, but they've never really hung out at the feeding station before. I wonder if it's going to nest here and where that will be.
I would like to say I took these photos, but the person who took them would rather remain anonymous to maintain his non birding status.I have the new queen for the Olga hive. Should be an interesting day tomorrow.

At this point, I think he loses his NB status... and becomes, BPB. Bird Photo Bill.
photo credits made me LOL too - I think dk & f is right ;-)
NBB's photos are great--my husband identified a mourning dove on a telephone wire the other day and I could barely stop from cheering--I didn't even know he looked :-)
Are Sapsuckers an irruptive species? We have a pair nesting in our yard and enjoying our suet this year too--and I have never even seen one before...? Glad to have them anyway.
PBB? Partly-Birding-Bill?
Good luck with Olga today. Here's hoping Queen Olga I expired of... natural causes.
NBB making an appearance? Lovely! I saw my first sapsucker this weekend but alas my photos were too dark.

I'm not sure if sapsuckers are irruptive or not. In my neck of the woods, migration is about two weeks behind, so it's hard to say if that's the cause of the sapsucker activity or not. I'd like to think that some of the habitat management going on in Mr. Neil's yard has something to do with it, but I'm not sure.
I don't know if I can be used to calling him anything but NBB in the blog. I'll tell you what's doing it, he's been playing with a Canon Rebel and that makes photography kind of fun.
