Hustle And Bustle Of The Hive

Mental note: avoid scheduling Birds and Beers during the MN State Fair, Barak Obama's historic acceptance speech, and when a swallow-tailed kite is reported in Minnesota. It was an intimate group, so small that even Non Birding Bill came over and joined us. I think a total of six showed up. It was still fun and we all ribbed Dingley that he was the one who released the kite.

Here is some video of our bees coming and going from the hive entrance. You'll hear an eastern peewee singing in the background:

my hive isn't nearly as established, we have bees comming and going but not as many. Having abee hive is sort of like having a gigantic fish tank isn't it? I could watch them all day!

Oh, wow-- I've heard that call before and didn't even realize it was an eastern peewee! Gotta work on my birdsong ID skills. :)

The book is here! \o/ I'll be camping on the porch with that this weekend. It looks really cool. Can't wait to try out some of this stuff and see who shows up.

Barrack's acceptance speach was unbelievable! I tuned out the MN Twins and Family Guy to watch the whole speach. I was moved!

Some day I'll have to attend one of these gatherings but I have to be in the cities first.
