An homage to I Can Haz Cheezburger, how many people get this reference?

Let’s just say that David Bowie’s outfit was fascinating to me & my friends in that girly period of our adolescence…

Hah, yes, we still have running jokes about cucumbers strategically placed. ;-)

I think my favorite bit was the rocks coming to help chase the goblins around.

Ah, what a lovely movie :D David Bowie is the r0xx0rz! ;)

I get both the goblin king reference and the LOL Owl reference.

“You remind me of the babe…”
    “What babe?”
    “The babe with the power.”
    “What power?”
    “The power of voodoo.”
    “Who do?”
    “You do.”
    “Do what?”
    “Remind me of the babe!”

    Oh, that’s excellent.

It’s so weird that Labyrinth has sort of insinuated itself into the mass consciousness lately. Flight of the Conchords even did Bowie-as-Goblin-King in one of their shows.

Lol, that is adorable. Labyrinth acourse.
Ahh…p*ssing dwarfs. You know in the manga “Return To the Labyrith”, Hoggle did end up king of the Bog of Eternal Stench.

But that owl has eyes of the same colour!
And Jared had a much funkier hairdo.
    But the resemblance is there.

You guys so rock! Where do I begin?

sonia, I think that was perhaps why that movie was my favorite when I was a 13 year old!

patrick, props for being the first (if not the only) guy to get the Labyrinth ref.

kitmarlowe, were you as weirded out as I was at seeing a muppet pee?

Mr. Neil told me that he was at the Henson studios and he found and watched an extended version of Labyrinth. Apparently, there are extended takes of Mr. Bowie and his magical dancing pants bouncing around and singing an even longer version of “Dance Magic Dance”. He said it didn’t make anyone oo good which is probably the reason why it’s never made it to the public eye.

What’s so very odd is that I was just talking about Labyrinth yesterday for almost no good reason, and then stumbled across this blog for the first time today. I had to look at it for awhile to make sure there wasn’t another reference that I was missing, because it was such a coincidence!

Thank you for memories of Bowie in spandex!

“Everything I’ve done, I’ve done for you… I move the stars for no one!”

My favorite line from my favorite song and scene and a favorite all-time classic!

    ORLY?

(Someone had to say it. :D )

Oh yes. An easy (and cool) reference. A part that was undeniably perfect for David Bowie. I have to say that I was much more taken with Jennifer Connely. I loved the sparring between those two characters.

I also loved the bit of Hoggle telling off the giant faces who were calling out their warnings.

    Ah, good times, good times.

    Mmmmmm David Bowie….

my sis enjoys the packaging in that movie, heh heh. :)

And I thought it would be embarrassing to admit I have magic dance on my iPod! My brother and his girlfriend had a period of time where they would watch that movie over and over and over and OVER again.
“What kind of magic spell to use? slime and snails, or puppy dog tails!”

Apparently, I’m the only one who hasn’t seen “Labyrinth.” Into the Netflix queue it goes.

I think I laughed, I really didn’t see the Labyrinth until I was older maybe 11 or 12.
You could try the manga as well. Some people have hated it, I thought the Manga “Return to the Labyrinth” was cute. So you could probably try it.
    Here is the first volume.
