Birdchick: Man, this house finch I took a photo of today looks really peaked.
Non Birding Bill: Is it okay?
Birdchick: Yeah, it’s just molting, see the pin feathers.
Non Birding Bill: Well, it doesn’t need those breeding feathers this time of year.
Birdchick: Well, it’s actually growing in those pink feathers now.
Non Birding Bill: You just can’t let me have anything, can you?

It’s Marriage Talk:
how it should have gone:
Non Birding Bill: Well, it doesn’t need those breeding feathers this time of year.
Birdchick: Awww…you’ll make a FINE bird nerd one day…
-followed by a hug (or more)
We were JUST talking about mixed marriages this weekend. Now you, Birdchick, seem to be more well-rounded than the hardcore lister/chaser type of birder. I envy the old guys with their traditional wives that let them drop anything at a moments notice, drive for 6 hours or more to chance a rarity. Now we have more female lister/chasers than ever and I’m sure their husbands are just as accomodating as the non-birding spouses of the past…..
A two-birder couple NEVER have nothing to talk about, NEVER have to negotiate what to do on vacations…the list goes on.
Someone needs to do a poll..
Mixed Marriage divorce rate vs. two birder couple divorce rate.
Or not…might just be too depressing.
I’ve never dated a birder–ever. I can’t imagine what it would be like.
