Chickadee Loses A Seed

You can almost see the surprise and “dang it” in the bird’s eye aa a black oil sunflower seed slips from the vice like grip of its bill.

    I don’t see how they can sit on a thin branch with the seed in their toes and whack away with their beak and save that teeny little chip in there!

  5. Perfect — you really can see that chickadee’s rather disappointed expression. Great photo! Rabbit’s Guy has a great point — it’s wonder they don’t lose more! But they’re perfectly evolved for that sort of dinner, we suppose . . .

    Hi donna

    I do a technique called digiscoping. I use a point and shoot digital camera with my Swarovski spotting scope. If you click on the digiscoping link at the top of the page, it lists all the equipment.
