The Daily Mail recently posted an article with some pretty incredible photos of the pelican attack. I’ll just link to the article so that way if you don’t want to see a pigeon in a pelican beak, you can avoid it. But if you love a good animal train wreck…follow that link.

I like the commenter on the article who said that the pelican had im-peck-able table manners. Chortle

This happened in South Africa as well but it was due to a farmer who threw out baby male chicken chicks and the pelicans got used to finding easy food. It has become a huge problem as they have now moved on to eating all kinds of seabird nestlings directly from their nests since the farmer stopped giving them a free meal.
OMG! And I thought the pelicans where my soft place to land.
That’s different for sure, but it doesn’t suprise me. I suspect this kind of thing is more common than we think. I have heard of deer eating small animals as well.
