Here I am, on the first day of vacation in south Texas and what did I spend digiscoping?

Ducks. Thousands of redhead ducks. Never mind that I count them for work this time of year. I still watched, photographed and counted them on my first day off.
I am a sick woman.

I understand the addiction! My field jobs often translate into my vacations. Great photo – why were they spooked?
So you’re still in stage 1 of your work vacation?
from a prof in graduate school:
vacation stage 1: can’t stop working
vacation stage 2: can’t stand the thought of going back to work
vacation stage 3: can’t wait to get back to work
What could be better than being in the company of ducks? With a camera? I miss ducks terribly. Enjoy them!
@bird feeders They appeared to have been spooked. We suspect an alligator was the culprit.
@craig No no no no no! The plan is Vacation Stage 1–meet up with friends in Corpus Christi, TX for birding fun. Stage 2–meet up with Non Birding Bill in New Orleans, LA for some non birding fun. Stage 3–meet up with girl friends in Harlingen, TX for birding shenanigans at the Rio Grande Valley Bird Fest.
@debi I’m sure I could spare a duck or two.
Trade you vacations -er . . . . jobs – er . . . . oh never mind!
I couldn’t keep up your pace!
