I know they are non native and cause problems, but I do love the look of starlings in winter plumage. This is a bird in my neighborhood resting after a good gorge on hackberries.

I love starlings, especially the noises they make when settling down to roost at night.
I won’t appologize. They are pigs at the feeders but I think they’re pretty too.
I agree with Elizabeth. I saw a flock alight on a tree at dusk the other day and the chirping and chattering was great. Nice to hear so much life when otherwise the only thing I’d hear is the occasional passing of a car.
We’re not native here either and we cause all sorts of problems…
I think starlings are gorgeous with their white tips and all.
I’m a Starling lover too.
One of the few species that looks hotter in it’s winter garb than it does in the breeding duds. They are pretty, but no offense, I still wish they stayed in the Old World where they belong.
I never knew their plumage changed…they are too pushy for my liking. That being said, I have the pushiest cat breed ever, the Cornish Rex
They are messy yes, however, they are one of many on ones lookie list!
