Great video! Last winter I had a female cardinal follow a red laser spot I shined on a tree trunk near the branch she was sitting on. When I told the staff at the store where I get my bird supplies, they thought I was nuts!
That’s mean…the poor turkeys think it’s a fat, juicy bug!
And here I thought that only cats did that! Someone needs to do a systematic experiment on this subject. Suzanne…I believe you.
too funny, I passed it on
Mildly funny. But they ‘re wasting precious energy chasing that when they should be eating. This is probably not cool – from the birds’ perspective.
You are cracking me up. Thanks. I will have to try the experiment with the cardinals and the laser. As it is winter, I will make up for any calories I burn of her’s in scientific pursuits with some nice fat black oil sunflower seeds! Goodness, my Cardinals are sucking it up!
Why, they are having as much fun with a laser pointer as my cats do!
wonder if you turned the light off if the turkey would think it caught the bug?
That’s hilarious! We had a family of turkeys in our backyard last summer. If they come back this year, I’ll have to get a laser pointer and try it out!
