NBB here. We’re fighting off a hack in the RSS feed. Our apologies. The site may be down for a few hours while I try to fix this.
UPDATE: I believe I have corrected the problem. The our site had been hacked and altered in such a way that the spam was only showing up when accessed by search engines, such as Google and Yahoo. This made it hard for me to trace the problem until I had found the file. The problem should be corrected now, but may take a day to clear out of Google. If you continue to experience these problems, please let us know in the comments or by emailing Sharon. Please be sure to include what service/URL you were using when you found the spam.
Again, our apologies.

hi Birdchick. I bookmarked your site a while ago and really think it is one of the best. I have been trying to hatch a less professional site of my own (also using WordPress) and the spam is an eye-opener and a frustration. I had hoped to build a conversation but now have closed the comments. I still have a numbing amount of daily spam to clean out on the development side. Any suggestions as to how to manage this? I don’t have geek support for this kind of trouble-shooting. Thanks!
Linda,
For the most part, we have Askiment, a plugin included with WordPress, to thank for catching and blocking most of the spam that comes into the website. You can read more about it here: http://akismet.com/wordpress/
This hack was of a different nature: someone actually got in to the files on the site.
