This isn’t from my New Year’s resolution, this a photo from a couple of weeks ago when I would doing a survey in December. Now…is there a bird in this photo and if there is…what species?

You briefly mentioned the behavioral differences between pipers and plovers. Can you provide more info or point me to a site that explains these differences?
2 Horned Larks (well one and a half). Even before spotting the birds in the photo Horned Lark was my guess. That just looks like a perfect place for them.

@birdchick Looks vaguely like a disinterested horned lark on the far left side, but I suck at winter plumage patterns…
@birdchick Agree with @kuchtam, left edge, one third of the way up, looks like Horned Lark.
@birdchick I think there may be a 2nd Horned Lark facing the camera on the right
It looks like a Horned Lark on the bottom left.
yes, a Horned Lark left side just below centre.

Sure thing, Brian. Can you wait until I go to FL later this month and I can get some video to show you?
That would be awesome. And thanks much for the card and autograph!
Oh cool! Glad it arrived safe and sound.
